Last night was 90s retro night at Citizens Bank Park. Fittingly, the Phillies lost.

Here are the 90s-themed pictures from the scoreboard. Screen grabs from the broadcast except where otherwise noted.

  1. It’s supposed to be 1991. Here’s that winning roster from a team that finished 20 games out of first to a team that’s currently 10 out: Dutch, Kruk, Morandini, Charlie Hayes, Dickie Thon, Wes Chamberlain, Dykstra, and Dale Murphy with a bench including Dave Hollins, Randy Ready, Rick Schu, Sil Campusano, Von Hayes, and Jim Lindeman, and a rotation including Mulholland, Tommy Greene, Jose de Jesus, Danny Cox, Pat Combs, Jason Grimsley, and Bruce Ruffin. How most of that team went to the World Series 2 years later is amazing (with mainly only additions of Schilling and spare parts). Maybe a sign of better days ahead.

  2. Eisenreich would be quite upset if you called him a “spare part”. And once he becomes upset, the FCC becomes upset.

  3. That Brian Schneider picture will haunt me for the rest of my days.

  4. waldo guy was a camera wh0re last night

  5. C’mon, as great as they were that season, Eisenreich, Incaviglia, Mariano Duncan, Kevin Stocker, Milt Thompson, all the guys that were the mostly-platoon squads WERE spare parts, as in out a couple of guys together to make one full-time player.

  6. where are the shots of Franzke and L.A.? Never saw them but I heard they were not flattering?
