Before Sea Isle, John Stevens and Justin Williams Punched You in the Dick and Took the Stanley Cup to the Art Museum

The Stanley Cup is in Sea Isle today – RIGHT NOW – and we’ll bring you pictures of that all day. But here’s John Stevens and Justin Williams holding the Cup ON THE STEPS OF THE ART MUSEUM. This hurts, and it’s hitting too close to home. Now they’re just trolling us and I’m kind of mad.

Cup Keeper Phil Pritchard tweeted the photo this morning, but I’m guessing it was taken sometime yesterday.

fuck me. hey, mr. snider, look how hard it is to win the stanley cup. players you traded away won it multiple times. dick

  2. Whats the deal with those sandals John? gay!

  3. The obsession Kyle has with the Carter-Richards marriage is just slightly less pathetic than the obsession Justin Williams, John Stevens, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards have with the city of Philadelphia. What’s with these guys? They prefer Sea Isle over Malibu? What emptiness in their pathetic souls is there that they feel this need to keep coming back here? We didn’t want them. Williams was one of the softest players ever when he was here. Stevens was a mediocre coach who let two frat boys run the team and Carter and Richards, well, Jesus, we’ve all been down that road a million times at this point of why they didn’t work out here nor would they work out here.

Congrats guys. You found yourself on a team with arguably the best goalie in the NHL Jonathon Quick. Go, live your lives. We’re tired of you. Well, Kyle Scott isn’t, but the rest of us have moved on. Maybe you should too.

STFU you imbecile. Justin Williams and Jeff Carter scored a combined 50 POINTS in the playoffs this year. 50 POINTS.

Jonathon Quick is a tremendous goaltender but The Kings most likely don’t win the Cup without Justin Williams and Jeff Carter. Wouldnt mind having a 29 yr old Jeff Carter,32 y.o.Justin Williams,Van Rymsdyk(25) as the core to my hockey team.

      • Ha. Nice try.

Carter and Williams did well as supporting players on a stacked team with a tremendous goalie. Anyone pining over missing them is delusional or nursing a crush on “Richie and Carts”. Williams was a soft player who came up small here. Carter was a soft player who came up small and/or choked in big games constantly here.

They didn’t produce when needed here so the team moved on. Period. That these losers cant get over the fact that teams move on from them and they keep coming back here is the sign of some kind of psychological disability.

Take Quick off that team and they don’t make it out of the first round. Replace Williams and Carter with any other decent second line players who average 20 goals or so and the Kings still win the Cup. And Richards…well, he’s just along for the ride half-assedly centering the fourth line making 6 mil a year because Holmgren is a moron.

        • Richards is still making $6 mill a year because the Kings think he’s worth it.

          • The Kings are paying Richards 6 Mil because they know Carter would demand a trade to whoever signed Richards once they bought him out. No fourth line center is worth 6 Mil.

          • Wow, you seem to know a lot about the Kings front office. Got a relative or friend there? Look, you can call him whatever you want but good teams make good decisions. Proof is always in the pudding. If Kings win a 3rd Cup will your story still be the same?

        • Jeff Carter is not/was never a “role player”. He was traded in his prime and has become an absolute playoff stud. A stud who has more playoff goals than any other player since he left Philadelphia.

If you actually watched the Kings run this year, Quick was extremely average and the Kings offense (led by Carter/Williams) is what carried them past the powerhouse Blackhawks, not to mention, he was terrible against San Jose and it was the offense who led them back from 3-0. The Carter hate in this town is fueled by loser Flyer apologists such as yourself who think that just because Paul Holmgren could drop his gloves 45 years ago, he knows how to assemble a hockey team.

Here’s to hoping Ron Hextall (who was at least involved in building a winner in LA) can fix this horrendous situation that Homer created.

          • Jeff Carter is a second line player in LA. He wasn’t a role player here, he was supposed to be the star player and he failed. So, they moved him.

I’m not a Flyers apologist. Holmgren was an awful GM. He was awful because he paid Richards and Carter those enormous deals. He was awful because he allowed the two of them to run the team. He was awful because after making two great moves trading away Carter and Richards netting four players he failed to do anything else to build up the team’s defense and goaltending. He was an awful GM and Carter and Richards were millstones around this team’s neck when they were here. Good for them, they wound up in a great situation where Carter gets to be a second line player and Richards gets to cash a check for barely contributing. But, if the two of them were still here A) Richards would’ve been bought out by now and B) the Flyers would still not have won a Stanley Cup with Holmgren in charge.

The Richards-Carter fanboys who whine about them every chance they get are sad, pathetic and delusional. And their leader runs a sports-gossip blog.

          • The only thing factual in this post is B). I agree with you there.

          • who cares what line he plays on? He plays top minutes and in all situations, PP and PK. Malkin plays on the 2nd line, Pat Kane plays on the 2nd line, Logan Couture plays on the 2nd line and many other star players who make comparable or more money. Like it or not, Carter has been an animal in LA (and on the Canadian Olympic team). If you look at his numbers on the Flyers, he was a beast then as well but I guess you just prefer the players who are “good in the room” or “muckers and grinders”

    • Williams’ wife is from this area and they live here in the offseason. Yea, it’s really pathetic for Stevens and Williams to bring the cup to their home, just like every other player that wins the cup does. Them bringing the cup to Philly has little or nothing to do with the Flyers.

Am I missing something? Wtf is the cup doing a lap around philly anyway? Cause Stevens lives here in the summer? I should take my soccer trophies from 8th grade to LA for a victory lap

  6. Nobody gives a fuck

  7. This headline sucks, and you seem to be the only one who obsesses about this.
Get the fuck over it already.

  8. Holy crap, who the hell cares.

Do any other sports do stupid shit like this. My god, it’s almost like they are begging people to care. Are you really gonna give us updates about this, and have multiple posts about it. Must be a slow day. This is pathetic.

  9. I applaud them for doing this. Who wouldn’t like to become wildly successful and then rub it in the noses of the people who said you weren’t good enough. They’re not punching you in the dick, they’re punching Homer and Snyder in the dick.
Now be honest with yourself for a minute….wouldn’t you like to punch those two guys in the dick too?

  10. Hey, I have a crazy idea! Let’s repost our repost of a Deadspin post.

    Seriously?

Jeff Carter has become everything the Flyers have envisioned him to be and then some. Plays on the power play and the penalty kill. Anchored the 2nd line and was one of the top 3 players on the ice at all times during the SCF.

Having time to recover from his injuries, get kicked down a notch or two by being banished to Columbus really helped him mature.

it aint just richards/carter people. lets start with letting dean lombardi go and promoting career grinder paul holmgren to be GM instead. nice move ed you fucking old senile geezer.

  13. Good for them. If I was champion and things ended bad for me in a certain town that I still lived nearby, I’d probably rub it in their faces too. Fans can get as butthurt as they want and say whatever they want ablut these guys but they’ll always be champions.
