UPDATE: Eagles Sign Ronnie Brown

Howie strikes again.

The Eagles announced the signing of former Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown to a one-year deal.

Brown rushed for 734 yards last year on 200 attempts. His 3.7 yards per carry average was the lowest of his career. Still, a solid pickup to backup Shady. The deep get deeper.

UPDATE: Pro Football Talk reports the deal is for $1 million. Roseman is good at his job.

  1. Who cares about his yards per carry, we’re never going to run anyway. Can he catch out of the backfield?

  2. If he stays healthy this is an AWESOME pickup, he’s a bruiser who is great at getting past the first level for tough yards, and at 6′ 230lb he has the speed to burn linebackers and the power to run over d-backs. He’s gonna be perfect for getting the tough yards we need in short yardage situations, something we haven’t had in a long time. With McCoy and Brown as the 1-2 punch, plus Vick/Young, Maclin/D-Jac, and Celek/Lee, our offense is an all-pro attack. Howie Roseman is my fuckin boy.

  3. God, it just keeps getting better. I love this signing! I can’t wait to watch some Eagles football!

  4. Asomugha, Rodgers-Cromartie, Brown, Babin, Jenkings, Young, and a partridge in a pear tree.

  5. love the signing but fear the stupidity of plays that Andy Reid will come up with now that he has Brown.

  6. We also just signed RT Ryan Harris from Denver. I feel like a LB move will be on the way…

  7. Where in the world are the Birds coming up with the cash for all these signings? This is nothing short of incredible!

  8. Great pick up but the only thing that worries me here is that Andy Reid is (probably) convulsing with orgasms at the multifaceted wildcat opportunities he can now run.
Either way, solid #2. The birds are getting after it this year.

  9. not to piss on the parade and all that…. but do we have a safety or linebacker yet…. just wondering, i mean we now have a bunch MORE offense and made some signings in defense… but i just get concerned with our starting 3 LB of Chaney, Fokuo and Matthews, young and unproven. and nate allen is a nice player at safety but again young, and i dont think kurt coleman(who is listed as starter on the depth chart at SS) is much of anything… I may be asking for perfection but, reality is that we are a good team with 2 important positions that have HOLES, so that is far from the DREAM TEAM

  11. what in the hell is with Tulo’s hair? It looks like a beaver is trying to burrow his way down the back of his jersey. It’s one part mohawk and two parts rattail. How has this gone on for so long? This isn’t just a phase for him anymore, it’s his hairdo!

  12. Why, why must it stand behind the plate during the later innings and terrorize viewers and children alike? It’s like Barney fucked Robbie Sinclair from Dinosaurs and out popped Dinger. Just frightening.
