The agreement includes reasonable incentives on playing time and games played for this season that could pay Bynum $12 million, a league source said. The Cavaliers hold an option for the 2014-15 season worth $12.5 million.
Not a bad deal, actually. The Cavs minimized their risk and gave Bynum real incentive to not be a loon (like, 18.5 million incentives). And with LeBron becoming a free agent next summer and the Cavs reportedly a potential landing place for the Akron born two-time champion… well, a healthy Bynum would make a nice sidekick.
