First place and it feels so nice!
Nothing like an intra-division match between two heavyweights on an overcast October Sunday to really get the juices pumping. Eli and
Vick Foles going snap for snap. The defenses firing the crowd up with big hits. Execution besting better execution. FOOTBALL.
Or… something like that.
Big time win against the now 0-5 Giants, who are awful.
Winning yesterday was like being voted Best Mathlete in high school if you’re the only kid who competes in advanced mathematical competition. Sure, you got a ribbon, but how good do you feel about it?
Pretty good, I guess, since 7-9 could win the NFC East. But let’s not get carried away. The Giants are hilarious. There was a stretch in the third quarter where both teams were actively trying to avoid winning. The G Boys had yet to take the lead, and the Eagles seemingly had no interest in adding to theirs. Here…. uhhh, you take it! No, no– all yours. WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS GREATER THAN SCORE?
Eventually, Eli Manning and the Giants offense took it upon themselves to gift wrap the victory, leave it at the Eagles’ doorstep, ring the bell, and run away before anyone saw them.
Let’s get to the good shit.
If we can’t feel too good about the Eagles – seeing as though the defense is still inconsistent, Michael Vick is now hurt (who had Week 5 in their office pool?), LeSean McCoy isn’t as effective without the threat of Vick running on read option plays, and the Eagles still don’t have a second receiver that can catch footballs in the NFL – we can at least feel great about seeing New Yorkers and North Jerseyiananananananananas look like this:
There’s a t-shirt for that
Get it here from Philly Phaithful.

Hey, the NFL would like to remind you of cancer by way of EVERYTHING ON THE FIELD BEING PINK.
This is just getting out of hand. You’d… almost think that they were trying to sell branded apparel:
Oh. A portion of proceeds support breast cancer research. The rest goes to Roger Goodell.
Without going on too much of a tangent– this is the sort of thing that’s wrong with America. Cancer is awful and is the second-leading cause of death in our country ’tis of thee. But instead of promoting awareness for healthy lifestyle-related causes, which would go a long way in helping to prevent any number of life-threatening dieseases, including cancer, we focus on the reactionary thing, because it has a name, a mean face and pink ribbons that we can all get behind. Better make sure everyone is dressed appropriately for maximum reach:
Besides, Pepsi, Bud Light and Papa John’s probably wouldn’t like the NFL implementing Locally Grown Organic Foods Month!
Think the old coach might have spent too much time in Baltimore. “These fans are looking to get on the Beltway and go home.”
Guess they all had long drives to D.C. ahead of them.
No idea how he caught this:
