Hey everyone and good morning. It’s Opening Day. We’re all so very excited for the season to begin. The Phils have, impressively, surged to a virtual tie of the division lead with only 162 games to go. It’ll be difficult to keep up the momentum, though. A stretch of tough games and Major League pitchers will give the Phils all they can handle.
Let’s hit it!

Really impressive comeback from the Flyers yesterday. Vinny Lecavalier obviously read my post ripping him. He’s scored three goals in two games. The Flyers, after beating the Penguins (times two), Stars, Blackhawks and Blues, lost to the Kings and Rangers, but then bounced back to beat the Maple Leafs and tie (forgetting the shootout) the Bruins. Not bad. Not bad at all. Oh, and Zac Rinaldo beat the piss out of Jarome Iginla:
Mark Sanchez and some Eagles were at a charity event at the Field House on Friday night. These great pictures from reader Justyn with a Y:
Sanchez thought Rowie Hoseman on Twitter was Howie Roseman:
The iPad epidemic:
Ridiculous Radnor residents are once again all pissed off that Villanova dares to improve their campus. Obviously these idiots moved into the area before there was a major university there and therefore have the right to bitch and moan about living near the school. Here’s a thought: Don’t like living near a university? Don’t move near a university.
The Mt. Airy thing reminds me of Phil, From Mt. Airy, who this weekend took to the airwaves to play the race card real hard with the DeSean Jaccson thing. He spent a few hours on Saturday claiming that the thug-gang thing is something all teams have to deal with. Which must mean it’s totally OK.
Eagles reporters can’t do their jobs until someone from the Eagles tells them some lie:
Day 2 of requesting an interview w/ Chip Kelly following DeSean Jackson release. #Eagles response: We have no further comment at this time.

Day 3 of Chip Kelly Watch: Request to interview #Eagles coach met with same response from team: "We have no further comment at this time."

I can’t unsee this picture of alleged virgin Lolo Jones and Rickie Fowler (via The Big Lead):
Maybe Claude Giroux was upset at another loss, this one a 3-0 defeat to struggling New Jersey on Thursday.
Maybe he was boiling because the fans booed the Flyers throughout another listless effort.
Or maybe he was just disappointed in himself for failing to score a goal in his 21st straight game, including the first 15 this season.
Whatever the reason, the Flyers’ captain walked out of the WFC and refused to talk to the media after the Flyers fell to 4-10-1.
Instead, the captain left it up to his teammates to explain another dreadful performance, one in which they barely tested 41-year-old goalie Martin Brodeur.
Good captains don’t do that.
Now in his second year as the Flyers captain, Giroux has become more vocal with his teammates. Example: On Nov. 7, with the Flyers owning a 4-10-1 record and sitting last in the league with just 22 goals, a players-only meeting was held, and Giroux was at the center of things.
Since that meeting, the Flyers have gone 35-17-6.
“G always speaks his mind, no matter what – whether it’s at a meeting, or between periods, or just something on the bench,” Simmonds said. “He’s obviously grown into the role; it’s not only his on-ice play, but he speaks at the right moments, and I think that’s huge for this team.”
Anyone else have whiplash?
Former Villanova star and my all-time favorite Nova player Allan Ray loves his Victory shirt:
Alex Morgan has a sister. That is all:
