Player to be Named Later/Clerical Error to be Called Up to the Astros Today

Someone get that man a mirror!
Someone get that man a mirror!

In the Hunter Pence trade that sent everyone we had somewhere else and left no one here, a supposed clerical error or mistake in general management sent power-hitting right fielder Domingo Santana to the Astros. He was just a throw in at the time and now is not at all a throw in and has been called up. Santana, according to the Daily News, will be joining another part of that Pence trade, Jon Singleton, on the big league roster.

Time will tell if he’s ready for the majors, but he’s hit .304 with 13 HR and 52 RBI with the Astros’ AAA club this year.

  1. Cant wait to see what he gets for lee an utley sean an john think the phils will get something for byrd they aint gonna get dick

  2. Jim, unlike most of these cretins, I don’t think you are doing a bad job, per se. I’m not a #firejim supporter. But I understand where the frustrations of some people are coming from (this could also be directed toward Kyle more and more lately).

It’s posts like this that epitomize why people are just shitting on crossingbroad in the comments. There’s no depth to these bite-sized articles. It’s a few links, a source or two, and one sentence of your opinion on the matter, if that.

Both of the writers need to give us something to really sink our teeth into. It shouldn’t be “what news is happening today in the Philly sports world” because I can go anywhere for that. It should be “what news is happening and how can Kyle/Jim gives us a unique (and irreverent, right?) spin on the matter?” That just hasn’t been happening lately, with either of you.

Keep trying though. I’m confident you have the chops to get there eventually.

    1. You’re on the wrong blog for in-depth, unless you’re looking for penis stories and Kyle’s dog’s rectal temperature updates. A non-cretin should have figured that out by now.

      1. Okay, so if this is what crossingbroad is supposed to be, then why are people giving Jim so much shit?

  3. Did everyone hear how Marks and Brace were on from 10-2 yesterday and are again today because Mayes is off? I have a really bad feeling we are looking at this nightmare permanently with the resignation of Bruno.

    1. No but I did hear Kwame Fisher Jones on Sunday. Wow, that was brutal. Guy sucked. 4pm can’t get here fast enough, boys

      1. We can only hope that Mayes is “on vacation”. Marks and Brace for 4 hours a day will make me turn my radio off.

Kwame Fisher Jones and Devon Givens may have been the worst 4 hours of radio in human history. Marconi is still weeping.

2 top Belgian defenders out; Altidore back. Liking our chances at 4pm

    1. Pasting the same picture over and over again really takes away from the pasted stories. The original writers (involved in the 18 links to other sites if you follow the link trail above) really deserve a better effort.

    1. Yup. And the 4th is a bullpen arm who is pitching well. This will go down as the worst trade in Phillies history and quite possibly the worst trade of the last 25 years. Well done Ruben, well done.

  4. HA Ha! This looks like the Sandberg trade thirty years ago. I guess Hall of Famer Domingo Santana will be back here to coach the Phils in 2040.
