Piggybacking on the earlier post about Ron Hextall being into ANALYTICS, the Flyers have waived – for the purpose of loaning to the Phantoms – a bunch of guys, including Jay Rosehill, whom Paul Holmgren signed to a two-year extension before last season. Rosehill was only due $675k (yes, please), so it doesn’t really matter, but this is a Hexy move where you get the sense that he’s not buying into old-time Flyers hockey. Of course… if anything it only balances out that stupid additional two-year extension he just gave Zac Rinaldo, who himself had been given one of those when Rosehill got his.*

*Yes, if you’re calculating at home, in the last two off-seasons the Flyers have given three two-year extensions to Rinaldo and Rosehill. And we wonder why we don’t have nice, shiny, tall, silver things.
