Earlier today, Chip Kelly said that the Eagles offense didn’t play well last night. In his eyes, that may be true — 332 passing yards is good, 37 rushing yards is not, seven punts is not ideal — but when the Eagles have gotten into the Red Zone, they’ve put six on the board. In fact, going back to the Houston game, Mark Sanchez has led the Eagles to seven touchdowns on seven Red Zone attempts. Before him, Foles led the Eagles to eight touchdowns in twenty-three attempts. The sample size for Sanchez is incredibly tiny, but it just goes to show in the Chip Kelly plug-and-play offense, points are the goal. And if you can put up 31 offensive points when you aren’t playing well, that’s a good sign.
