Chip Kelly’s Tostitos Commercials, Ranked

Kyle Scott | January 9, 2015

10) Kicking Chips

Easily the weakest effort. Without the context of the other spots, it’s hard to even know what’s going on here.

9) “Sorry, I was on my phone”

Chip’s worst acting effort of the entire series. Rick Vaughn was more of a thespian in his Right Guard commercials.

8) Zach Ertz

This is really funny, but another one that needs the context of the others to really get the point across.

7) Security

How did the voiceover guy get Dom out of there so quickly? I can’t suspend my disbelief on that.

6) Jingle

I swear that’s Wawa Hoagieman jingle writer Parry Gripp— huge points to Tostito’s guy for even sounding like that lyrical genius (is it him?). And the forlorn look on Chip’s face at “not you, Chip Kelly, the other one” is priceless:

5) Dream

The fist pump in the beginning is rough, but the “BACK to reality” strikes the perfect balance of irreverence and comedic timing.

4) Donnie Jones punt

The look of satisfaction on Chip’s face when Donnie pops that bag open is like a baby winning at hide and seek:

3) “No one cares!”

Simple. Effective. Hilarious.

2) Shopping cart

“Brian, you know we only buy official chips.” That’s absolutely brilliant.

1) “Get lost.”

Poor Chip. But he’ll always be the official Chip of the NFL in my eyes.
