The Flyers Traded Zac Rinaldo

I’m falling in love with Ron Hextall. What, a gritty energy guy doesn’t win you hockey games in 2015? WHO KNEW?!

Flyers press release: The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired a third-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft from the Boston Bruins in exchange for C Zac Rinaldo, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Rinaldo’s two-year, $1.7 million contract was just about to kick in. Incredibly, Hexy found someone dumb enough to take it. Also, this:

  1. OH GLORIOUS DAY!

THE POPE IS GOING TO REQUEST A MEETING WITH HEXTALL WHEN HE COMES TO TOWN.

OBAMA ALREADY CALLED TO REQUEST NATIONAL SECURITY ADVICE.

CHUCK FUCKIN NORRIS JUST BOUGHT GOALIE EQUIPMENT.

HOLY FUCK THIS IS AWESOME. HEXTALL IS A GOD DAMN MAGICIAN.

  2. But who will protect our star players from the roving gangs on the ice? We need an enforcer, Ed Snider said he would never let his guys get beat up again. Unwritten rules etc!

  3. Is there a rule somewhere that says Hextall can’t GM for all 4 of our professional teams at once? Because if there isn’t I’m putting in my vote for him. Immediately.

  4. Worst flyer in the history. Can see all the Delco trash lowering their flyers flag in front of their section 8 house

  5. Great move. Hopefully with this, the Pronger and Grossmann deals it means something big is in the works come free agency Wednesday.

    1. Isn’t the free agent market pretty weak this year? I just hope they don’t overspend on crappy free agents just because they can.

      1. Yes, it’s a joke. The days of big UFAs are gone. Hextall still has lots of work to do thanks to the idiot before him.

  6. What Hextall signed a gritty energy guy to a multiple year contract in VanderVelde the second he traded Rinaldo WHO KNEW.

    1. VV has much more actual hockey skill than Rinaldo. He’s an energy guy, sure, but he can make things happen and he and Bellemare on the 4th line should see some production.

He also played under Hakstol at UND so hopefully the new coach knows how to bring more offensive skill out of him.
