In response to the last place ranking – by far – in almost every category in this year’s CB Readers Sports Complex Food Awards, Aramark is making an attempt to up the offerings at the Linc this year.

Every season brings new food options to the major local sports venues, and Aramark unveiled the Linc’s today. For the Delconians, Zac’s Hamburgers will be joining the concession portfolio on the concourse, behind section 125, striking a blow in the never-ending Zac’s vs. Charlie’s war. Additionally, there’s the junk in a bowl of “homemade chipotle flavored mac & cheese, topped with Cool Ranch Doritos or black cherry smoked pulled pork or maple sugar smoked pulled chicken at Quick & Carmichael’s BBQ locations.” There’s also the beef brisket meatball sandwich:

The lager-braised beef sandwich, served with caramelized onion and cheese fondue and topped with a roasted long hot pepper giardiniera:

The Arista at Paesano’s:

And a rotating offering of vegetarian pizzas at Pizzeria Vetri:

Time will tell if the Linc can pass CBP in terms of pure deliciousness, accessibility, and variety, but that beef brisket meatball sandwich looks like a damn good place to start.

Kyle: Nope. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. Not falling for it. Even with Zac’s – the lesser twin of Charlie’s – I don’t trust the process. Not at all. As you know, I’m generally a fan of Chickie’s and Pete’s, but somehow, incredibly, last year Aramark managed to turn their hard-to-screw up fries and buffalo chicken tenders into a soggy mess. They ruined a Tony Luke’s sandwich. So I don’t care how good these foodstuffs appear, I’m not falling for it. It’s also unclear where they’ll be available. Typically you have to walk a country mile to get what you want at The Linc, and often the “good stuff” is on the club level. The Lincoln Financial Field Twitter account says “throughout the stadium,” but the Philadelphia Business Journal says the Artista, Vetri pizza, and mac and cheese are available in the “SCA Club and the Market in the Panasonic Club for 2015.” I’m not rich, so I don’t know what that means. I mean, I’m sure Jim Cramer will be thrilled, but us plebeians will probably have to make due with the much more readily-available shitty hot dogs and Goose Island, both of which make the selections at Buffalo Wild Wings seem like Capital Grill.
