Mehhhhhhhhhhh.

Here’s what we know about Koetter. He had a ton of success around the turn of the century coaching Boise State to 26-10 record over three seasons, including 10-3 and 10-2 seasons which both ended in bowl wins. He then went on to Arizona State where, in six years, he compiled a 40-34 record, where he was fired after 7-5 and 7-6 seasons in 2005 and 2006.

In the NFL:

In 2007, Koetter accepted the position of offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). In his first year in the NFL, he had immediate success setting franchise records for total points scored and yards gained while helping the Jaguars to a 11-5 record. In his (5) seasons with the Jaguars, the team cumulatively ranked third in the NFL in rushing yards over that time span in addition to having the NFL’s leading rusher in Maurice Jones-Drew in 2010.

On January 15, 2012, Koetter was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons. On January 2, 2013, the Atlanta Falcons signed Koetter to a contract extension that ran through the 2014 season.

On January 8, 2015, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the hiring of Koetter as their new offensive coordinator.

When I think power offenses, I don’t think Jaguars, Falcons and Bucs. But Koetter did a fanastic job with a Bucs offense which, despite a hilarious pick six on the first drive of the season, put up over 6,000 yards.
