Your Monday Morning Roundup
The news in the coming days will be dominated by Ed Snider (rightfully so), but here’s the rest from the weekend.
Let’s hit it!
But first, a word from our sponsors:
Surveys. Don’t like them? Now you can subscribe to disable surveys and receive great discounts to local businesses. More details here.
Bang. We are placing our second order on Bang shirts today. Due to demand, orders will take about 5-7 days to ship. First round of orders should be going out today-tomorrow. Ghost tie-dye ship in 1-2 days. All other Ghost shirts in about five days. Get one.
More. Already have all of our shirts? Check out Philly Phaithful.
Mortgage. That there is Franco D’Angelo, and he is the best mortgage guy around. If you’re even thinking about buying a house, or wondering if you can, give Franco a call and get a free screening and quote. I’ve worked with him on two mortgages now, and he’s guided me through what can be a confusing process, especially if you’re self-employed. His job is to find you a mortgage and a great rate. If you’re even thinking about buying, give him a call to see what you can afford. Good dude– Philly sports fan. Well, three out of four at least.

Villanova was honored by both the Flyers and Sixers this weekend, and they’ll likely be honored by the Phillies at some point. And, for some reason, that inspired this Tweet from Flyers beat writer and ultimate curmudgeon Rob Parent:
Blow me. The irony of tweeting this about Villanova being honored by that pathetic excuse for a pro basketball franchise, which has 10 wins and only a handful more than Nova at the Wells Fargo Center this season despite, you know, playing there 41 times, is so, so rich. Comparing Villanova’s National Championship to Taney falling two games short of a Little League World Series title (however impressive and fun their run was) shows exactly the type of humorless pricks who cover the Flyers. Villanova just won the National Championship in incredibly impressive fashion, beating four top 10 teams and winning on what will go down as one of the greatest shots in basketball history (not college basketball… basketball), and Parent is bitching about them being honored by a few of the local pro teams who could probably learn a thing or two from their collegiate counterparts? Man, go fuck yourself.
Is this one of the biggest jersey violations of all-time? Has to be, right?

Just an epic collapse by Spieth to lose to that mugging wanker who douchily removed his sweater before his final shot for better photo ops. Meanwhile, Spieth at 12 will go down as one of the worst holes in golf history.
Idle thought: Is Billy Payne, Chairman of August National Golf Club (which I can only assume is a contractually-mandated way to refer to him), the biggest egomaniac in all of sports? He makes ESPN and CBS air that legends tee-off at least, what, once per day? As far as I can tell, they’re not even allowed to air it live. ESPN had to wait about 30 minutes on Thursday morning so they could edit it up and make Payne and Augusta look just flawless. And then he has to get his silly airtime doing those forced promos and standing by himself in Butler Cabin before Nantz takes over and gives us the most awkward award ceremony in sports. I love the Masters, but their stuffy-ness is off the charts.
Steph Curry fell on the floor when he heard about fellow UA guy Spieth’s collapse:

This is one of the best Villanova videos I’ve seen:
Here’s Stephen King complaining about the net at Fenway. I assume he saw the Red Sox fan who was almost impaled last year?
Pat Summitt’s son allegedly impregnating a player is one of my favorite sports stories of the year. Is that bad?
