Lane Johnson's Suspension Would Void His Guaranteed Money
According to Field Yates of ESPN, a Lane Johnson suspension (his second) would void the guaranteed money portion of the contract extension he signed in January. That deal was a 5-year, $56 million extension with $35 million guaranteed. That doesn’t mean that money is suddenly not going to Johnson, but it would no longer be guaranteed. So if the Eagles decided, due to the suspension, to part ways with Johnson, he’d be out of $30 million, and the Eagles would put that money right back in their pocket. Additionally, the guaranteed money he already got would be returned to the team for the suspension time.
