Hey, here’s a new one– Lane Johnson is blaming someone other than himself.

First it was the fans, and then Chip Kelly, and now it’s the NFLPA, which Johnson is blaming for not flagging whatever supplement he took – an amino acid containing a peptide – that will likely lead to his 10-game suspension. Johnson used an app provided by the NFLPA, Aegis Shield, to check for banned substances. Here’s his Shaggy defense:

Johnson said his B test will likely come back positive and that he believes he’ll be suspended.

In a statement, the NFLPA told CSN Philly:

1. NFLPA does not approve supplements.

2. While the App may have listed it with a green check, players are reminded within the app, at team meetings and as part of the policy that a) supplements may contain stuff not on the label and b) still strict liability for putting it in your body if it contains something not on the label.

Somehow other players have managed to avoid taking PEDs they didn’t know they were taking.
