When I left the country last week, the Wentz Wagons were approaching a slope where its assorted drivers and vagabonds could either ride the brakes a little bit and remain level-headed (less fun) or lay their foot on the gas and go full-on religious-level devotion to Wentz. It’s good to see that many of us remained reasonable and OH MY GOD SOMEONE CUT THE BRAKES WE CAN’T SLOW DOWN.

On NFL Network, Brian Baldinger and Mike Garafolo talked about Carson Wentz’s impact on the city. And then Baldy compared him to Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers:

“He’s Peyton Manning pre-snap, he’s Aaron Rodgers post-snap. He’s thrown 102 passes. He hasn’t thrown one, not one yet, that has been close to intercepted, a 50/50 ball. His decisions are impeccable and his location and accuracy, I don’t know if you can throw the ball any better than he’s throwing it.”

Three weeks in, and Wentz is being compared to the best QB in football over the last couple years and maybe the greatest pre-snap QB ever. It may not be level-headed, cautionary, or rational, but it sure seems fun. Which hill were we all riding the wagon down? I’ll grab a segway and a helmet and meet you there.
