WHOA. The Eagles have traded Sam Bradford to the Vikings for a first round pick and a future fourth round pick, according to multiple reports.

Bradford to the Vikings was somewhat rumored after Teddy Bridgewater went down with a nasty injury this week. Bradford has essentially a one-year deal and can immediately fill in for Bridgewater.

This means Chase Daniel – and given what we’ve seen from his so far – and soon probably Carson Wentz(!) will be the Eagles’ starting quarterback. By making the trade, the Eagles essentially admit defeat this season for the sake of growth (which was an obvious path to anyone paying attention).

The Eagles now have a first round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, which will be held in Philly.

UPDATE: Jeff McLane reports its for 2017 first and fourth round picks.

UPDATE 2: Others are reporting that it’s a first round pick in 2017 and a fourth round pick in 2018.

UPDATE 3: The Eagles paid Bradford an $11 million signing bonus, which means the Vikings will only have to pay him $7 million this season. So, the Eagles essentially paid $11 million for a first and fourth round pick.

UPDATE 4: Carson Wentz barely played in the preseason, but the Eagles obviously liked what they saw from him in training camp and in his limited action. He’ll get the keys soon. Because Chase Daniel stinks.

UPDATE 5: Meanwhile, Vikings fans:

UPDATE 6: Bradford is reportedly “thrilled”:

Hard to blame him. He gets out of an awkward situation here and goes to a good team. He’ll still have a lot of uncertainty (next year), but he’s in a much better spot to prove himself… whatever that would actually mean.

UPDATE 7: Oh this is going to be fun:

UPDATE 8: This is so fucking hot:

UPDATE 9: Howie is currently fornicating on a New Jersey beach, daring Hermine to disrupt his thrusting, because he can’t be stopped:

UPDATE 10: Override trade!
