After an 11 day layoff, the Eagles are back in action tonight as they take on the Washington Redskins at home on Monday Night Football. With a win, the Eagles can be all alone at the top of the NFL with a 6-1 record.

To recap, here’s where the staff stands after three weeks:

1: Bob (6-0)

2: Tyler (5-1)

T3: Chris, Coggin, Kevin K, Kevin L, Kyle, Tim (4-2)

9: Phil (3-3)

10: Anthony (1-5)

Our predictions for this week are after the jump:

Phil: The time to check this gift horse for cavities is (for now) over. They had no business winning both of the road games with the Chargers and the Panthers. One, sure, but not both. They did it anyway. We have officially reached “ride them until they throw a shoe” territory. I’m tempted to find some way to work Nick Foles into this horse motif but this is probably the time to just ride it home and make the pick. Eagles 26, Redskins 16.

Bob: I have a very uneasy feeling about this game. The Eagles would appear to be the better team, have extra rest, are at home and should be supremely motivated to deliver a midseason knockout blow that would cement them as the team to beat in the NFC. The Redskins will be without Jonathan Allen and Josh Norman, and Bashaud Breeland is banged up. Still, this just feels like it’s going to be a struggle. I’ll take the Eagles, but barely. Eagles 26, Redskins 23.

Coggin: As Clubber Lang once said, “Prediction? Pain.” Sorry Kirk, I think you’re in for a long night against this defense. Eagles 31, Redskins 14.

Tim: The Eagles are rested, prepared, and playing at home. They are also the better football team. Barring a rash of turnovers, the Eagles are winning this game. Eagles 27, Redskins 13.

Anthony: In a year where nothing makes sense in the NFL, the Eagles have the best record in the league. That’s not a knock on the Eagles. Good for them. But no rational observer would have expected to say that on October 23rd. And I’m not talking in the summer… I’m talking a little more than a month ago when everyone was calling for Doug Pederson’s job after losing to Kansas City. Now, we’re talking Super Bowl. Aaahh, but the one thing we know from watching the NFL this year is to expect the unexpected. The Eagles are a better team than Washington. There’s no rational reason to expect them to lose. Except everything in the NFL is irrational these days. So, I’m picking the Redskins just because. And considering my luck at picking games since joining Crossing Broad (1-2), Eagles fans should be happy I went against their team. Redskins 24, Eagles 23.

Kevin L: Not too long ago, this game may have scared me – division games usually do. But watching the Redskins hardly squeak a win out over the 49ers confirmed that they aren’t in the same realm of the Eagles. That, coupled with the Eagles having an extended amount of time to prepare gives me a ton of confidence the Eagles take the win at home in this game. Eagles 27, Redskins 20.

Chris: This has been a weird week. From the whole Chiefs-Raiders ending, to the Chargers shutting out the Broncos at home, and the Titans barely beating the Browns in overtime. The weirdness kind of continues. It’ll be a dog fight, especially with Kirk Cousins losing his grandmother. I think he’ll play with a purpose tonight. The Redskins have six guys listed as questionable, and they won’t have Josh Norman as well. I think the Eagles win, but barely. Eagles 27, Redskins 24.

Tyler: The Eagles are coming off as a rare pseudo-bye after the win over Carolina, and coming into Monday Night Football this evening. The Redskins are the third best team in the NFC East while the Eagles are arguably the best team in the NFL. This shouldn’t be close and won’t be, especially with it being at home. Eagles 30, Redskins 14.

Kevin K: Closer than most people think. The Eagles defense winds up being the difference in a scrappy and competitive game. Eagles 27, Washington 24.

Kyle: Massacre. The Eagles clobber the Redskins. Eagles 29, Redskins 10.
