Bears-Eagles Week 12 Live Thread

The Eagles return home today to take on the 3-7 Chicago Bears in a game that can help the Birds officially clinch the NFC East.

With a win, the Eagles would need the Washington Redskins to beat the Dallas Cowboys Thursday night to officially win the division.

As for today’s game, there are a couple of injuries for the team. Beau Allen (knee) and Trey Burton (back) are listed as questionable for today. Doug Pederson says both of them will be gametime decisions. Kicker Jake Elliott will play after completing the league’s concussion protocol earlier in the week.

For the second straight week, the opponent’s injury report is extensive. It involves a ton of reserves. The Bears will be without wide receiver Josh Bellamy and safety DeAndre Houston-Carson, as well as linebacker Leonard Floyd, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last week. Linebacker Danny Trevathan and defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris are doubtful. There are nine players listed as questionable. Quarterback Mark Sanchez, wide receiver Dontrelle Inman, tight end Dion Sims, offensive linemen Kyle Long and Tom Compton, defensive linemen Akiem Hicks and Mitch Unrein, linebacker Pernell McPhee, and cornerback Bryce Callahan.

We’ll continually update this post as the game goes along. And check out our predictions to see how good (or probably bad) we guessed this game.

4:10 – Final: Eagles win 31-3. Eagles play the Seahawks next Sunday night in Seattle. And with a Washington win on Thursday, the Birds will officially have clinched the NFC East.

4:03 – Rasul Douglas almost had an interception, but it got changed after a review. But we got this:

3:56 – LeGarrette Blount fumbles on third down. Bears recover. Ball control is the only downside of this game. Can’t happen.

3:54 – Joe Walker is officially out. Also, Zach Ertz is the team’s first 100-yard receiver this season.

3:47 – Nick Foles is in at quarterback. Wentz’s day is done. If only Mark Sanchez was active…

3:26 – Touchdown Eagles! Ajayi runs for 30 yards, fumbles the ball around the five, but Nelson Agholor picks it up in the endzone for the score. Eagles lead 31-3 in the fourth.

3:22 – We’re done three quarters. Eagles lead 24-3.

3:19 – Former Phillie Ryan Howard is at the game. So is Mike Trout.

3:18 – Torrey Smith is back on the field.

3:11 – Eagles turn the ball over on downs for the first time today. Bears take over at their own 35. 2:03 left in the third quarter.

3:07 – Torrey Smith gets hit hard on a third down play. He’s on the sideline. A head injury at the very least. Now in the medical tent.

2:57 – Santos makes a 34-yard field goal. The Bears scored. 24-3 Eagles with 8:40 left in the third quarter.

2:50 – Bears got a first down:

2:48 – Second half underway. Bears guard Josh Sitton is out with a concussion.

Zach Ertz: 6 catches for 65 yards, 1 TD
Alshon Jeffery: 5 catches for 52 yards, 1 TD
Nelson Agholor: 2 catches for 24 yards, 1 TD
Malcolm Jenkins: 1 INT, 1 fumble lost

For the Bears:

Mitchell Trubisky: 5 of 9 for 27 yards, 1 INT, 2 carries for -1 yard
Jordan Howard: 5 carries for 6 yards, 1 catch for 4 yards
Bears Rushing: 8 carries for 6 yards
Dontrelle Inman: 1 catch for 18 yards
Jonathan Bullard: 1 sack
Bears have no first downs

2:32 – Touchdown Eagles! Wentz finds Alshon for a 8-yard TD. 24-0 Eagles at the half:

2:17 – Joe Walker has a stinger. He’s questionable to return.

2:13 – LeGarrette Blount jumped over a man:

2:07 – Joe Walker is down on the field after the kickoff. Not exactly sure what he hurt. He’s in the medical tent.

2:04 – Jake Elliott nails a 45-yard field goal. He’s back baby! 17-0 Eagles with 7:37 left in the second quarter.

1:59 – Kenjon Barner is a great punt returner and a dragger:

1:49 – Touchdown Eagles. Wentz finds Nelson Agholor on a 15-yard screen pass. Eagles lead 14-0 with 10:52 left in the first half.

1:47 – Carson Wentz. Elusive.

1:39 – We’re done after 1. Eagles have a 7-0 lead that could be more if the Bears didn’t force two fumbles.

1:36 – Cairo Santos shanks a 54-yard field goal to the right. John Fox is still dumb.

1:32 – LeGarrette Blount runs 35 yards, but the Bears force another fumble and recover:

1:28 – Malcolm Jenkins intercepts Mitchell Trubisky, but Jenkins fumbled and the Bears recovered. Bears would eventually punt.

1:21 – Touchdown Eagles. Wentz finds Zach Ertz for the 17-yard score. Birds lead 7-0 with 6:04 left in the opening quarter.

1:12 – Exactly what the Eagles need, a three-and-out on defense. A bad punt means the Eagles will begin at the Chicago 44.

1:08 – After a promising start, the Eagles go backwards and have to punt near midfield. Bears start inside their own 5.

1:02 – We’re underway from the Linc. Blount is the starting running back as the Birds start from their own 25.

1:01 – Bears win the coin toss and defer to the second half. Eagles offense up first, which is rare. Jason Peters also out for the coin toss.

1:00 – Oh?

11:30 – Inactives are out. For the Eagles, Beau Allen and Trey Burton are officially inactive. And a surprise healthy scratch, as Shelton Gibson is in over Marcus Johnson:

Meanwhile for the Bears, a good amount of the questionable players are out. Danny Trevathan is also out:

11:15 – According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Eagles are working on a contract extension with Brandon Graham.
