Jerry Jones Says Something Stupid

Jerry spoke at the start of Cowboys training camp this afternoon.
Per the norm, he said something dumb, this time explaining that he will require his players to stand for the national anthem instead of remaining in the locker room or taking a knee.
That isn’t really the issue though; the “dumb” part is that he contradicted himself:
Jerry Jones said players will be required to stand for the anthem and not stay in the locker room prior to the game. He said President Trump's comments about the anthem situation have been "problematic," and added, "everybody would like it to go away."

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys are required to stand for the anthem. The ongoing discussions between the NFL and NFLPA have no bearing on the Cowboys. They will stand. He said President Trump's comments have become problematic. He wishes it would go away

Jerry Jones says he wouldn't support a player who elected to stay in the locker room during the anthem. "No, our policy is you stand for the anthem, toe on the line." #CowboysCamp

Jerry Jones on national anthem issue: “As far as the Dallas Cowboys, you know where I stand, the team knows where I stand.” (Jones wants everyone to stand.)

That makes no sense.
If you want the issue to go away, let it go away. Don’t plant yourself firmly on one side of it. Plus, the NFL’s new policy is currently frozen as the league discusses how to proceed with the NFL Players Association, so no one even knows if those guidelines will be in place next season.
This is me whenever Jerry opens his dumb mouth:
Time’s yours.
