I assume that means all of them.

Doug Pederson didn’t sound too enthusiastic about the secondary situation during his Friday press conference. He was asked for injury updates on Rasul Douglas, Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, and Avonte Maddox.

From the presser:

Pederson: All of those guys are still day to day.

Zach Berman: It’s Friday.

Pederson: It is. But we’ve still got time. We’ve still got time. We’ll see what happens today. Obviously we’ll put out the injury report this afternoon and we’ll go from there. But yeah, looking forward to see if they can do something.

Doug later mentioned that the Eagles have been so light at corner, that they’ve needed to use some backup receivers at CB in practice this week.

That sounds pretty rough.

The injury report comes out in a few hours, but on Thursday, these guys didn’t practice:

  • CB Rasul Douglas (knee, ankle)
  • LB Jordan Hicks (calf)
  • CB Sidney Jones (hamstring)
  • CB Avonte Maddox (knee, ankle)
  • CB Jalen Mills (foot)
  • RB Darren Sproles (hamstring)

Rodney McLeod and Ronald Darby are also out of the equation.

Assuming none of those four DBs can play on Sunday, plus Jordan Hicks, you might have a defense that looks like this in nickel:

  1. Defensive end: Brandon Graham
  2. Defensive tackle: Fletcher Cox
  3. Defensive tackle: Tim Jernigan?
  4. Defensive end: Michael Bennett
  5. Linebacker: Nigel Bradham
  6. Linebacker: Kamu Grugier-Hill
  7. corner: De’Vante Bausby
  8. corner: Chandon Sullivan
  9. corner: Cre’Von LeBlanc
  10. strong safety: Malcolm Jenkins
  11. free safety: Corey Graham

I honestly have no idea who would play in the slot and who would play on the outside. Tre Sullivan and Deiondre’ Hall are the only other two defensive backs on the roster, I believe.

Anyway, that’s the worst-case scenario. We’ll see what the injury report says. For what it’s worth, Jason Kelce and Rick Lovato were full participants on Thursday.

Update:

Update 2:

Jones, Maddox, Mills, and Hicks are out. Douglas is listed as questionable on the final injury report.
