Well… that really sucked.

It was a game in which the Eagles were expected to destroy the Cowboys and have them fall down into hell. Instead, the Birds wore black to perhaps their own funeral last night in a 27-20 loss.

Kevin will have plenty of takeaways later this morning, but you might have enough already. This team sucks. And they also have a ton of injuries, especially on defense.

The Roundup:

At least we had some really good news drop this weekend. After an ugly win against the Hornets Friday night, the Sixers made a big move by agreeing to acquire Jimmy Butler in a trade with Minnesota. They’re giving up Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second-round pick. Some Process people were emotional for some time. The trade call should happen today.

With a huge trade like that, the Sixers were short on men for Saturday’s game against Memphis. Playing with nine players (Wilson Chandler also didn’t play), the team fell to the Grizzlies in overtime.

The team will have some more bodies for tonight’s 7:30 PM game against the Heat on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Shake Milton and Demetrius Jackson were reportedly called up from the Delaware Blue Coats.

Speaking of bodies….oh?

It sounds like the Rockets will cut ties with Melo sometime soon.

Kinkead: Carmelo Anthony is a horrible fit for this Sixers team

Meanwhile, Zhaire Smith won’t play in 2018 due to his food allergy he suffered in September due to sesame seeds.

The Flyers are…really good? Yep.

After Thursday night’s comeback overtime win over the Coyotes, the orange and black pitched a 4-0 shutout against the reeling Blackhawks Saturday afternoon. They’re 5-0-1 in their last six games, granted most of those wins came against teams that wouldn’t make the playoffs right now. They’ll host Florida on Tuesday night, another team not in the playoff picture.

Coggin asks the big question: Will the Phillies REALLY get Bryce Harper? Now if they were good, they’d get him today so that we forget about the Eagles.

In college hoops:

  • Villanova crushed Quinnipiac on Saturday. They’ll host Michigan inside the Pavilion in a national championship rematch Wednesday night.
  • Temple took care of Detroit Mercy to start their season 2-0. They host Georgia on Tuesday.
  • St. Joe’s started their season with a 15-point win over Old Dominion. They play tonight as they host Monmouth.
  • Penn crushed Rice on Friday. Up next is a home matchup with Lafayette on Tuesday.
  • Speaking of Lafayette, La Salle lost to them by a point on Friday. The Explorers are at Florida on Wednesday.
  • Drexel began their season with two losses against Eastern Michigan and Rutgers. They’ll play Bryn Athyn on Wednesday.

Introducing Wingston, the newest mascot for the Wings. Will we see him this year at games? Who knows, because the NLL’s season is in jeopardy due to CBA negotiations.
