Report: Eagles Hire New Vice President of Football Operations

A Monday morning report, from Ian Rapoport:
The #Eagles have hired Andrew Berry as their new VP of Football Operations, per @AKinkhabwala and me. Berry was previously #Browns Vice President of Player Personnel & former Sashi Brown lieutenant. Several teams had requested him in the past, Philly is the one who gets him.

Never heard of him.
Apparently he’s 31 years old, a young guy with a lot of upside. Good measurables, straight-line speed, really knows how to convert speed to power.
Based on that title, “VP of Football Operations,” I’d assume he works right underneath Howie Roseman and alongside current Vice President of Football Operations and Strategy Alec Halaby (Zach Berman says Halaby is staying).
For what it’s worth, Vice President of Player Personnel, Joe Douglas, is listed under the “scouting” tab on the Eagles’ front office page. I need one of those fancy titles for my Crossing Broad job. Maybe “Executive Vice President of Shit Posting.”
I don’t see a ton of information on Berry floating around out there. Here’s a blurb from 247 sports, after the jump:
The Harvard graduate began as a scouting assistant with the Indianapolis Colts in June of 2009. He remained in that role until 2011 when he was named a pro scout. After a year, he was elevated to pro scouting coordinator. The Browns hired him in February of 2016 to serve as Vice President of Player Personnel. He had remained in that role until the recent role change.
The Browns finished 7-8-1 this year after seasons of dreck. They’ve got some nice young talent on that squad, though of course I have no idea how much responsibility Berry would claim for that. Let’s hope he presided over the good draft picks and not the bad ones.
I’m digging through Youtube clips right now. Here’s one of him discussing the NFL Combine and the various drills players run:

Welcome to Philadelphia, Andrew Berry.
Kevin has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 2009. He spent seven years in the CBS 3 sports department and started with the Union during the team's 2010 inaugural season. He went to the academic powerhouses of Boyertown High School and West Virginia University. email - k.kinkead@sportradar.com
