It’s definitely the bamboo.

For the third straight game, the Phillies defeated the Mets, this time via a Jay Bruce walk-off RBI single in the 10th, in a 5-4 game. But it wasn’t pretty to start. Again.

New York jumped out to a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. Nick Pivetta was pulled after giving up all four runs off nine hits with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Jean Segura started this Phils surge with a solo home run in the bottom half of the inning to put the Phils on the board.

And then came the seventh, and the Mets bullpen. Mickey Callaway pulled starter Jason Vargas with one out and a runner on second with Seth Lugo. He gave up an RBI double to the first batter he faced, Cesar Hernandez, to make it a 4-2 game. After Maikel Franco flied out and Brad Miller walked, the inning appeared to be over as Scott Kingery swung at strike three. But it was a wild pitch and the bases were loaded for Segura, who brought home two runs on a single to tie the game at four.

Then in the 10th, Stephen Nogosek walked Rhys Hoskins and gave up a single to J.T. Realmuto before Jay Bruce came up to the plate to deliver his first walk-off hit as a Phillie:

Can the Phils complete the sweep? Personally, I would love it. Send the Mets more into turmoil, why the hell not? Aaron Nola is on the mound against Zack Wheeler for a 1:05 PM first pitch on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, manager Gabe Kapler told Angelo Cataldi he won’t manage “based on online polls.” Smart move.
