26,000 people showed up for United States vs. Curacao in the Gold Cup quarterfinals last night at Lincoln Financial Field.

Not a bad crowd, honestly, for a Sunday night game that featured somewhat expensive ticket prices. Folks are down on the U.S. men anyway, who are trying to build up some momentum again after missing out on the 2018 World Cup.

The U.S. snuck by Curacao 1-0 to advance to the semifinals, where they’ll face Jamaica, but maybe the most entertaining part of the night as a corny fight between Panama and Jamaica fans in the south stands of the Linc, a fight that the national media would find a way to blame on Eagles fans.

I didn’t get the good parts, but Pablo got some decent footage, after the jump:

Looked like a handful of Jamaica fans in a section that was mostly Panama fans. At one point, I saw a spectacular kung fu kick that just missed landing on somebody’s noggin.

This was the end of the half-assed melee:

Four arrests, nine ejections:

Here’s another far away angle:

Nothing too serious that I saw. Looked like a lot of thrown drinks and some fake punches thrown, but I don’t think anybody was really hurt. The Jamaica fans exited near the players’ tunnel and then it seemed like the rest of the crowd filtered out after that as USA and Curacao fans entered the stadium.
