Bet Rivers Sportsbook Is Launching a Pro Football Pick 'Em Contest
Bet Rivers Sportsbook will become one of the first PA sportsbooks to offer a Vegas-style season-long pro football contest.
Joining forces with SugarHouse Sportsbook, Bet Rivers will offer its users the chance to compete for $500,000 in cash prizes with a season-long NFL pick ’em contest for pro football games on Sundays and Mondays.
Here’s what you need to know.

Bet Rivers Pro Football Pick ‘Em Details
Bet Rivers users will pick winners for games on Sundays and Mondays. Their picks will be ranked against other users on a leaderboard.
The winner will receive $125,000.
New users can enter here.
Cost of entry is $150, but those who enter by August 15 can get in for $125.
Incredibly, Bet Rivers is not taking any rake, meaning all 100% of entry fees are paid out to winners– clearly this is an attempt to sign up new customers before the start of the football season.
What’s more, if there is more than $500,000 in entry fees, Rivers will increase payouts.
Each week, a weekly winner will receive $2,500, and the player with the most incorrect picks after the season will also receive $2,500.
The full prize breakdown is as follows:
1st – $125,000
2nd – $40,000
3rd – $20,000
4th – $15,000
5th – $10,000
6th-10th – $5,000
11th-20th – $3,000
21st-30th – $2,000
31st-50th – $1,000
51st-100th – $500
101st-200th – $250
201st-400th – $200
401st-500th – $175
Again, rates will increase if Rivers gets more than $500,000 in entry fees.
Each player can submit up to 25 entries. Though they’ll want to be mindful of cost vs. upside.
Announcing their presence in the market
Parent company Rush Street will soon switch to using the Rivers brand exclusively. Bet Rivers offers a slightly updated interface from SugarHouse Sportsbook, and features a better modern color scheme and branding.
Launching a pro football pick ’em, which is a very popular type of contest run in Las Vegas – think the SuperContest – sets Bet Rivers apart from the competition in PA and in New Jersey. The latter has not offered anything of the sort, despite the popularity of the contest.
Especially when you consider the speed with which such a contest was launched in Pennsylvania, a state with notably more restrictive gambling policies, you have to wonder if someone missed the boat.
Bet Rivers will take entries until the start of the NFL season on September 8.
