"Zeke Who?" Says a Cheeky Jerry Jones
Similar to Mike Scott, Jerry Jones ain’t no bitch.
He’s been doing this a long time. He’s not gonna back down in a standoff with a fourth-year running back who decided to spend training camp in Mexico because he wants a new contract.
“Jerruh” has previously stated that you can win a Super Bowl without an NFL rushing champion, which is true. He also did not put any kind of timeline on needing to resolve Ezekiel Elliott’s hold out situation. And this weekend, he dropped this soundbite regarding the Pro Bowl ball carrier after rookie Tony Pollard ran for 42 yards and a touchdown on five attempts against the Rams:
Yes, Jerry Jones said "Zeke who", when asked if Tony Pollard is his "best negotiator".
But… this is the full "Zeke who?" sound bite from Jerry, complete with the necessary context of his follow-up to the joke, saying the #Cowboys need both Zeke Elliott and Tony Pollard. pic.twitter.com/yDiZnlwwke

Hah! I knew I liked Jerry. What a cheeky bastard.
Here’s the full transcript:
Reporter: Is Pollard your best negotiator with Zeke?
Jerry: Who?
Reporter: Pollard.
Jerry: No, Zeke who?
Reporter: He got you on camera!
(laughing)
Jerry: Now I will say this, it was a critical blitz pickup that got our quarterback killed. You gotta be able to make that block. But what’s amazing is for him to come in here, and he hadn’t done that much – he knows exactly what to do and how to do it. He goes out there and plays to that level, if he continues this through the next several weeks, he’s gonna be right in the middle of it early. That’ll really complement what we’re doing with Zeke, not replace that, and I mean that, not replace that. Nobody’s getting cute here. But it’ll certainly be a great complement to have a great running game with, I can picture both of those guys in the same sets at the same time out there and really giving those defenses fits.
Tony Pollard was a 4th round pick out of Memphis and twice won the AAC Special Teams Player of the Year award. He’s more of a stud kick returner than a workhorse type of ball carrier, but who knows what happens moving forward, especially if Zeke continues to chill in Cabo.
Here’s the play Jerry is referring to about the blitz pickup, FYI:
Pollard was actually not in the protection plan for this play, and was actually supposed to be in the flat. Once noticing the free rushers he stayed in to slow them down.
This changes perspective big time.
