Lane Johnson Needs Ankle Surgery and is Done for the Season

The ankle injury is too much for Lane Johnson, who is now done:
Lane Johnson just told us on a Zoom call he's out for the rest of the season.

Lane Johnson says he will have surgery to restore the function of the ankle's deltoid ligaments. He thinks Matt Pryor will be the right tackle now.

He’d been in and out this season dealing with the problem. He’s looking at a four-month recovery, so that takes him into March and well beyond the season.
The good thing is that he should have plenty of time to get this problem fixed, get back to 100%, and be ready for his 9th NFL season at age 31.
In the meantime, with Jason Peters reportedly going back over to right guard, the Eagles I guess will just keep Jordan Mailata on the left and use Pryor at RT, as Lane suggests. Rookie Jack Driscoll has played there this year.
They’re gonna get smoked by the Seahawks.
