The Eagles’ coaching staff continues to take form, and Ian Rapoport is reporting that a QB coach is in place:

Brian Johnson? Love his work in AC/DC. Great singer.

This is a very good hire. Johnson you might recall from his playing days. He was Alex Smith’s replacement out in Utah. Threw 57 career touchdowns and quarterbacked the Utes team that went 13-0 and beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Coaching-wise, he has strong links to Dan Mullen, whom he worked with in Starkville. He had a one-year stopover in Houston, then rejoined Mullen at Florida in 2018 as QB coach before becoming the offensive coordinator. This season, with Kyle Trask tossing the football, the Gators put up 509 yards per game, which was 9th-best in the country, and averaged 39.8 points, which was 13th-best. They hit these marks playing in the nation’s toughest conference, the SEC.

During his career, Johnson has had the chance to work with some fantastic quarterbacks. Trask and Prescott were already mentioned, but in 2017 at Houston he had a very young D’Eriq King, and he also coached Feleipe Franks and Emory Jones in Gainesville. He was a fantastic college QB and if he can connect with Carson Wentz and “fix him,” then LOOK OUT because we’re going to the Super Bowl.

Edit –

Totally forgot to mention that he is familiar with Jalen Hurts:

Now we’ve got some dirty deeds… done dirt cheap!
