Shoulder Surgery Ends Scott Kingery's Season
Scott Kingery’s path back to the Phillies’ Major League roster recently met another roadblock.
Kingery, who is owed a guaranteed $14 million over the next two seasons, will miss the remainder of the 2021 season after undergoing shoulder surgery to repair an injured labrum.
Scott Kingery recently had right shoulder surgery. Torn labrum. The Hope is he’ll be ready by spring training.

Kingery last played with Lehigh Valley on June 26. On July 1, he was placed on the 7-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation before being moved to the 60-day injured list on July 9.
In a brief stint with the Phillies this season, Kingery went just 1-for-19 with 12 strikeouts in 15 games. The Phillies’ former top position player prospect was unceremoniously removed from the team’s 40-man roster in early June and never found success at Triple-A.
In 23 games with the Iron Pigs, Kingery hit .181 with a .598 OPS. He had just six extra-base hits and struck out 27 times in 72 at-bats.
