Let’s get it back to football for some positive news. Not the football that has given us the delightful Jordan Mailata or has to deal with Philadelphia’s hypocritical mask policy introduced by an incompetent mayor. Instead, let’s focus on the beautiful game, as the Philadelphia Union have announced a potentially game-changing attacking option:

Davó will likely make his debut soon, but it’s highly doubtful he’ll make the Union’s 18-player squad for Thursday night’s CONCACAF Champions League semifinal matchup against Club América at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

The signing should bolster an attack that features a goal scoring trio of Kacper Przybylko (6), Sergio Santos (4), and Cory Burke (4) all of whom bring a unique set of skills. Here’s hoping Davó can give the Union an added dimension in the final third.

Davó comes to the Union on loan from Brazilian Série A side Corinthians. Davó’s economic rights were previously contested by his previous team Guarani, which led to a number of legal battles that aren’t exactly pertinent. What matters is that he found the back of the net twice and dished out three assists in 14 games while on loan to Guarani prior to making this move.
