Here’s some good news to start your Saturday.

The Eagles announced they have reached an agreement for a three-year extension with talented defensive end Josh Sweat, which will keep him under contract through 2024. Sweat was scheduled to be a free agent at the end of this season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the $40 million contract extension could be worth up to $43 million and includes $26.9 million in guaranteed money.

Drafted by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft from Florida State, Sweat has accrued 10 sacks over the past three seasons, including six from last season.

Last week Sweat recorded six tackles in the season opener against the Falcons.
