Good Eagles win, but Miles Sanders had to bring up booing, so now it’s part of the Wednesday discussion.

For some clarity on our earlier story, I had a bunch of people message me saying that Jalen Reagor was the player in question, and he was getting booed incessantly, even at the mere mention of his name. That didn’t translate on TV, but folks said it was pretty bad in the stadium, that he was getting shredded while jogging out there to get in punt return position. Going after a guy that hard seems excessive, but it doesn’t surprise me.

Here’s Big Play Slay checking in:

First things first, Reagor didn’t show a “blatant lack of effort and heart.” He possibly prevented a scoop and score on the Birds’ second drive when he chased down the Washington player from behind and stripped the ball, ala Don Beebe back in the day. Reagor didn’t excite in the return game but caught a few balls for a season-high 57 yards, believe it or not.

The funny thing about Slay’s tweet is that people working regular jobs DO get ragged on. It’s not booing from the stands, but it’s somebody up in your face, complaining about something. Try working in the service industry and dealing with entitled customers. Or you’re a Kohl’s cashier and some lady is yelling at you because her coupon expired. Even sports bloggers take shit, like on Crossing Broad where we’d get destroyed in our own comments section before Kyle shut it down.

It all starts with paying customers looking for a quality product and some accountability. But there’s a fine line between acceptable griping and Neanderthal behavior. You go too far towards the latter and you embarrass yourself.

The thought of Slay booing us at our jobs is pretty funny though. Feels like a Geico commercial that needs to be put together.
