Daryl Morey Says "Ball Sack" on the Radio
Sixers President Daryl Morey was on the Mike Missanelli show Thursday afternoon. Mikey Miss is the OUTRIGHT leader in Philly sports talk.
Obviously Mike asked about all of the Ben Simmons stuff. Are these guys gonna make a friggin’ trade or what? We’re waiting patiently.
Morey’s segment was pretty long, and again he downplayed the idea of forcing something at the deadline, but he also told us that the blockbuster trade rumor shared on Twitter by BALLSACK SPORTS is simply not true:

“We had a trade debated, it might even be this one, that was tweeted out by Ballsack Sports. I mean people were treating that like it was a real thing. I think that was yesterday or two days ago. So like, I am imploring people to not get too attached to Ballsack Sports tweets and treat them seriously. That’s what we’re dealing with.”
That’s great. The Sixers GM said “ball sack” on the radio. Beavis and Butthead are somewhere, laughing.
This is what it’s come down to. The guy who holds the fate of the Sixers in his hands and/or cell phone is asking fans not to believe a Twitter account named Ballsack Sports, which sent this out:
Report: 76ers have offered Warriors blockbuster trade for Ben Simmons that would send 2 all stars, 2 young stars, and 2 future first round picks to the Sixers for the 25 year old phenom. Morey’s asking price remains high. pic.twitter.com/4gjKx6yyyt

We wanted to believe it, but Daryl Morey is right. Ballsack Sports just cannot be trusted. Ballsack Sports is fake news. Sad!
NBC Sports Philadelphia is clipping video from the more relevant parts of the interview, but I think this is the one that resonates the most:

Meh. Well listen, I get it. If Morey thinks the best chance to win a title comes from waiting for a better trade pool in the summer, so be it. But that is a tough sell for Sixers fans, who would essentially be asked to deal with a wasted season during Joel Embiid’s prime. February 10th is the trade deadline.
