Sixers Reportedly Going After DeAndre Jordan, who is Running on Fumes
Sixers news:
The 76ers have been in the market for a backup center and will be aggressive in pursuit of DeAndre Jordan — either placing a waiver claim or working to sign him as a free agent should he clear waivers, sources tell ESPN.

The thought here is that the Lakers (dumpster fire) are going to waive Jordan to sign D.J. Augustin and help their back court.
Not sure about this move for the Sixers though. Jordan has very little left in the gas tank. The light came on once he ended up going going, back back, to Cali Cali. Jordan turns 34 in a few months and he’s down to 12.8 minutes per game while averaging 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds. He would get you 10 and 10 per night about 2.5 years ago, but those lob city days were a long time ago. He’s got very little left in terms of lift and mobility.
Maybe the Sixers think they can make Jordan serviceable for eight minutes a night if he’s rolling for James Harden on the second unit and doing the most basic rim protection. But the better play here is to at least see what you’ve got with Willie Cauley-Stein, and/or roll Paul Reed out there. Reed is young and athletic and has shown some flashes. You’ve also got Charles Bassey and can keep trying this Paul Millsap thing. To me, any of those four guys is a better choice than Jordan. We can’t be going back to the ghost of playoff series past, where the Sixers would fall apart with Embiid off the floor. Remember Greg Monroe? Eek.
The Lakers saw DeAndre Jordan make this outlet pass last night and said yeah you’re outta here pic.twitter.com/K6ZCb7lMTD
