Adam “Schefty” Schefter was on John Kincade’s show Wednesday morning and the crew asked him about the Eagles pursuing a running back:

Miles Sanders has been out with a hamstring injury, and with Jordan Howard no longer in the picture you’ve got Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott, and Jason Huntley filling out the depth chart. The team that finished 1st in the NFL with 2,715 rushing yards last season is currently a little thin in the backfield.

The reason the Hunt thing started is because he was seen speaking with Nick Sirianni before one of the joint practices in Cleveland:

Hunt had a calf injury and only played eight games last season with Nick Chubb handling RB1 duties for the Browns. He did play all 16 games the year prior, logged more than 1,000 all-purpose yards, and is only 27 years old. Even last year he averaged 4.9 yards per carry, so the guy can still play.

It’s the baggage associated with him that’s the problem. Hunt was released by the Chiefs in 2018 after that video surfaced of him kicking a woman in a hotel hallway. He was then pulled over by police in Cleveland and that five-minute dash cam video went viral.

The Eagles usually do a good job avoiding these kinds of controversial signings/draft picks/trades. They run a mostly clean program and roster decent dudes who are easy to cheer for. Seems like the Hunt speculation isn’t growing legs.
