Will Jason Peters Ask Jerry Jones for More Money Now That He's the Cowboys' Starting Right Tackle?
Cowboys right tackle Terrence Steele tore his ACL during Sunday’s game against Houston. Jason Peters stepped in at right tackle during the game-winning drive against the 1-11-1 Texans:
#Cowboys RT Terrence Steele confirmed with torn left ACL and is out for season, per source.
First reported @BobbyBeltTX.
With expected return of Tyron Smith at LT, #Cowboys have options. Jerry Jones said Jason Peters and Josh Ball primary candidates.— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) December 12, 2022
No word yet if Peters will hold Jerry Jones hostage like he did Howie Roseman when he had to fill in for Andre Dillard. Don’t get me wrong, he was making right guard money and deserved to be paid as a left tackle. It just sucks he only played eight games that season, which mixed with the consistent false starts to stall drives, really muddied his legacy in Philly at the end.
Here’s what Cowboys fans and reporters think of Peters stepping in:
Just rewatched all of #Cowboys OT Jason Peters' snaps at RT from Week 14.
What a performance by him.
Peters had not played more than 5 snaps at RT in a SEASON since 2006!

Cannot get over Jason Peters just casually stepping in at right tackle for a game-winning drive and playing at a high level in the process.
That was one of the more clutch performances that we have seen from a Dallas Cowboys player in a while.

That Jason Peters signing is a blessing I swear

It’s a blessing for now.
Peters hasn’t played more than 21 snaps during a game this season. If he does become the starting RT, those numbers will triple. That’s gotta be worth at least three drive-killing false starts on Christmas Eve.
