From Wednesday’s press conference:

Hot take:

The Eagles win in Dallas with Gardner Minshew under center if Avonte Maddox does not leave the game injured. Seriously. He was “flying around” out there in the first half, had a couple of huge tackles and blew up a trick play in the backfield. If he doesn’t leave the game, Josiah Scott doesn’t come in, and maybe 3rd and 30 turns out differently, then the Eagles put it away from there.

Maddox has been that good this season. Jonathan Gannon plugged the slot hole by using C.J. Gardner-Johnson in that spot (in specific packages) when he returned in week 18, which left Marcus Epps and Reed Blankenship in the safety positions. If they can get a healthy group of CJGJ, Maddox, Epps, James Bradberry, and Darius Slay on the field for Sunday, you have to feel VERY good about the defense’s ability to deal with Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle.
