QGannon:

Not sure the Cardinals’ job is the most desirable because of the QB situation, and the GM’s resignation, and the fact that they play in the Niners’ division. Probably better than working for Jim Irsay, however, but that seems like a low bar to clear. If Gannon wants a head coaching job right now, this is his best bet, because the other vacancies have already been filled.

Gannon’s had a good second half to the season. His D shut down the Giants in the divisional round then knocked two quarterbacks out of the NFC Championship Game. If his unit does it again in the Super Bowl against the best QB they’ll face all season long, then the people who hated on him all year long (like Seth Joyner and myriad sports talk radio dipshits) will have no choice but to admit they were wrong or just weasel their way out of it like they always do. If the Birds get carved up instead, then a lot of the air is gonna come out of the Gannon balloon and will likely impact his shot at the AZ job. We’ll see.
