Mike Pettine Reportedly in the Mix for Eagles Job

Let’s get it back to the Eagles with a Geoff Mosher nugget:
Name I’m hearing who could potentially join #Eagles defense staff: Mike Pettine.
Currently #Vikings assistant HC. Also has LB coaching experience.
Was senior defensive assistant for #Bears in ‘21, when Sean Desai was their DC.

Pettine is a local guy. Went to Central Bucks West and coached at North Penn and William Tennent before joining the Baltimore Ravens in 2002. He has 20+ years of NFL experience, was head coach of the Browns, and did two stints as a defensive coordinator, one for the Jets and one for the Packers.
Adding him makes sense. Could be a nice veteran voice on the defensive side of the ball and give Sean Desai some guidance. It’s a really young staff outside of Jeff Stoutland, Tracy Rocker, and Joe Pannunzio.
Kevin has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 2009. He spent seven years in the CBS 3 sports department and started with the Union during the team's 2010 inaugural season. He went to the academic powerhouses of Boyertown High School and West Virginia University. email - k.kinkead@sportradar.com
