You may or may not give a flying shit about the World Baseball Classic, but you’ve got to be thrilled with the tournament Trea Turner is having.

After beating Venezuela in the quarterfinals with a 7th-inning grand slam, Turner knocked in four more runs to help swat aside Cuba and put the United States in Tuesday night’s final:

Three home runs in 24 hours.

For the tournament, Turner’s stats:

  • 5 games
  • 19 at bats
  • 5 runs scored
  • 7 hits
  • 4 home runs
  • 10 RBI
  • 2 walks
  • four strikeouts
  • .368 average
  • .429 on-base percentage
  • 1.000 slugging
  • 1.429 OPS

Those are incredible numbers. He’s averaging an RBI every other time he steps up to the plate. The only other dude with 10 runs knocked in is Japan’s Masataka Yoshida, who just signed a five-year deal with the Red Sox. Randy Arozarena has a ridiculous 1.566 OPS in the tournament with nine RBI and four doubles, and then there’s Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout and a drop off in production. Turner is right up there knocking in runs with the best of them.

Mexico and Japan play on Monday night. Should be a banger. Winner gets USA in the final.
