Here’s a blurb about the Ed Snider Legacy Game and HOF Game:

Most notable this season, the Flyers will host Flyers Hall of Fame Game and Ed Snider Legacy Game. On Saturday, January 6 the club will pay tribute and celebrate the legacy of late Flyers Founder Ed Snider and will highlight his dedication and contributions to the franchise and Philadelphia community. The Flyers will also host Flyers Hall of Fame Game as the team honors three-time Stanley Cup Champion and 2017 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Mark Recchi as the 28th inductee of the Flyers Hall of Fame. The team will honor Recchi with a special pregame ceremony on Saturday, January 27 as part of a larger Flyers Hall of Fame weekend which will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Flyers 1974 and 1975 Stanley Cup Championship teams.

That’s cool. One of the recent complaints was that the team wasn’t properly honoring its past, or something like that, so it seems like they’ve listened to the feedback and put a renewed emphasis into this area.

There are some cool giveaways in there, too. I’d wear the Flyers bucket hat, and the Gritty Earmuffs will be useful for the next time Angelo Cataldi appears on the Phillies broadcast. Dollar pretzel night is legit and I’d gladly put a Coors Light tag on my luggage, which will inevitably be damaged or lost the next time I fly American Airlines.

Pride Night will be interesting as well. Ivan Provorov is no longer on the team, and therefore his girlfriend’s dog will not be catching strays on Instagram, but we do have Marc Staal in the fold, who skipped Panther warmups and didn’t wear the pride jersey earlier this year. Might be a moot point, though, because the NHL decided that teams won’t wear specialty warmups this season following the recent controversies. Whatever the Flyers do for pride in January, it’s going to look different than it did in 2023.
