Baseball from Alec Bohm's Infamous Three-Error Game Now Signed and Up for Auction
Remember the three-error game in which Alec Bohm proclaimed “I fucking hate this place?” Of course you do. One of those balls is now signed and up for auction at Goldin:
It made waves throughout Philadelphia media the day after it happened, when Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm’s particularly frustrating night in the field, where he committed three errors against the New York Mets on Apr. 11, 2022. Committing three errors in a game is not a common thing for a baseball player to commit, but Bohm certainly wasn’t the first player to achieve such a dubious feat. However, as the boos rained down on him, he was caught on camera uttering the words “I f**** hate this place.”
Presented is the actual official Major League Rob Manfred Jr. baseball used in that Apr. 11, 2022 game when Alec Bohm committed his third error of the game in three innings. Bohm has penned his flowing signature in blue ink across the baseball’s sweet spot, adding the inscription “I Love This Place” in atonement for controversial—and yet light-hearted—quip of frustration following the error. The baseball exhibits excellent game use and comes with an MLB Authenticated Hologram (VT169823) for game use, plus a COA from PSA/DNA (2C73500) for signature.
“I love this place.”
$300 starts the bidding:
Here’s the link again to the auction: Alec Bohm baseball. There’s some other good Phillies stuff up there as well, like game-used jerseys from Bohm, Bryson Stott, and Cole Hamels.
