Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong for the Philadelphia 76ers in four games against the New York Knicks.

And so we’ve reached the point where the season could end on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks are a 4.5-point favorite.

Positivity is hard to find anywhere about the Sixers in the fan base right now, and the situation is more grim because both Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. missed shootaround on Tuesday morning.

Of course, that can mean absolutely nothing, considering Tyrese Maxey was sick before Game 2 and posted a 35-point performance anyway.

The Sixers need a similar performance out of Maxey and another big game from Embiid to stay alive and cash the +158 money line ticket that about one percent of the fan base is holding on to.

After watching four games, it’s very easy to say the Sixers have three scoring threats in Embiid, Maxey, and Oubre. Embiid’s over/under sits at 32.5 points, Maxey is at 25.5, and Oubre is at 12.5.

Bless your heart if you can muster the strength to bet on Tobias Harris in what is likely his final game as a Sixer. Kyle Lowry and Nicolas Batum do not put up enough shots to be bought in on their point props. Realistically, the Sixers need one of those three players, or a massive Cam Payne performance off the bench, to send the series back to south Philadelphia.

The Knicks are going to run through Jalen Brunson, who scored 47 and 39 points in the last two games. Brunson has the highest point prop of Game 5 at 33.5 and I wouldn’t be surprised if the over cashed with ease.

OG Anunoby was New York’s second-best scorer in Game 4, and I would look to the over on his point prop of 14.5 over Josh Hart, who will fill up every other column in the stat sheet.

The full game over/under sits at 204. That’s indicative of how the series has been played and the final score will probably be close to that number, After all, we just witnessed a 97-92 war in Game 4.

The over is 2-2 in the series, as are the Sixers and Knicks against the spread, so there’s no particular edge on either bet.

The Sixers have been competitive in the series, so that’s at least something to consider if you bet the spread, but there’s a black cloud looming over me that says if the Sixers are down by five or more in the fourth quarter, they waive the white flag and end the season, which might be the best thing for our collective mental health. Regardless, this might be our last chance to wager on the 2023-2024 Sixers with Pennsylvania sports betting and NJ sports betting.
