Longtime 97.5 the Fanatic host/producer Pat Egan was part of Tuesday’s Beasley Media cuts, confirming his departure Wednesday afternoon:

Kevin Cooney filled in for Egan on Tuesday night.

Egan had recently been moved off of the morning show and to the evening shift as part of the shuffle that saw Andrew Salciunas and Bob Cooney also switch time slots. He was previously part of the four-person crew that included John Kincade, Cooney, and Jamie Lynch, reduced to three when Lynch was let go a couple of years ago.

Egan was one of the longest-tenured employees remaining at the station. He began as an intern in 2011 and then became a street teamer and producer. And yes, you likely remember the Dwayne from Swedesboro saga, which might have been the pinnacle of the RADIO WARS era at Crossing Broad. Regardless, I am 99.9% sure that no one currently on air has/will have a longer Fanatic tenure than Egan. He had a decade-plus run with the station, as he notes in that Twitter thread (there’s more if you wanna check it out).

Also departing Beasley is Steve Vassalotti of 102.9 WMGK’s morning show. Vassalotti was part of John DeBella’s program from 2017 to 2023, working as a producer and co-host. He kept the role of co-host when DeBella retired in August and was replaced by Matt Cord, the new program thusly titled “The Matt Cord Show with Steve Vassalotti.” Vassalotti also worked at 97.5 the Fanatic and 93.3 WMMR in the past. He produced Sean Brace’s show back in the day.
