Rhys Hoskins returned to CBP Monday night and received an awesome standing ovation from Phillies fans:

From Dan Baker giving it everything he had, to the Phillies playing his old walk-up, song to the straight up minute-long ovation that turned Rhys into a puddle, it was all perfect. There was no way he was getting a hit after that. The Phils and their fans can’t miss right now. Show love to a future Wall of Famer, but also strategically get him choked up so he can’t punish your team. Chess, not checkers.

Later in the game, with the Phils up 3-0, he walked and stole second on JT, where they shared a laugh:

Later on in that inning, Hoskins comes around third on a Blake Perkins single and Johan Rojas gets payback:

Which led to a little ass play from the two:

Am I wrong, or did it look like Rhys might’ve been walking over to the Phils dugout until he remembered he’s a Brewer now?

Then in the top of the 7th Hoskins comes up and hits his first home run in CBP since Game 3 of the World Series:

And it was great because you could root for it since there wasn’t much damage done to the Phils. Look at the guy who got the ball; he’s confused more than anyone what to do. Keep it? Throw it back? Keep it? –

He later realized he was a part of one of those rare moments in Philly where an opposing player hitting a home run doesn’t result in fans yelling at you to throw the ball back.

You really couldn’t have scripted a better return from Rhys if you were a Phillies fan. A 1 for 2 night with a home run, stolen base, and Zack Wheeler and the Phillies win convincingly. Mixed in with some great moments shared with former teammates and fans:
