It’s all water under the bridge with CJGJ. People were upset with the circumstances that led to him leaving for Detroit, but when he came back he apologized for saying that people here were obnoxious and that he “couldn’t stand those fuckers.” He didn’t have to apologize for that because it was true. People in the Delaware Valley are indeed obnoxious fuckers. Remember, someone stole his car and we were coming off a season in which the Birds lost the Super Bowl by a field goal, a Super Bowl, by the way, in which CJGJ was one of maybe two people on defense to actually play a decent game. So when he re-signed with the Eagles this offseason after a year in Detroit, nobody had any hard feelings at all. They knew they were getting a baller back in the secondary. That’s what’s great about this town. Short memories. One week you’re ready to commit your Phillies gear to the pyre, next thing you know they’re riding a one-game winning streak and everything is good. It’s fine.
