The New York Giants fit into the most popular betting trend in the NFL through three weeks.

Underdogs of 5.5 points or more carry a 14-2 against the spread mark and have won outright in 10 of those 14 occasions.

Well, the Giants are a 5.5-point underdog against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

Daniel Jones and Co. just added to the trend in Week 3 with an outright win over the Cleveland Browns as a 6.5-point underdog. That was the only cover by the Giants this season.

Meanwhile, Dallas’ only spread cover in 2024 also came against the Browns back in Week 1. The Cowboys are 1-2 ATS overall, but they are 3-0 to the over.

Thursday’s over/under sits at 45, a number the Cowboys could potentially hit themselves if last season’s results are any indicator of what will happen at MetLife Stadium. Dallas beat the Giants by a combined score of 89-17 last season. The final scores were 40-0 and 49-17.

The Cowboys’ passing game is the unit that could do all the damage to the Giants. Dak Prescott threw for 404 yards in the second game last season. CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks each eclipsed the 100-yard mark.

Lamb will be the most popular player prop target on Thursday night, and probably by a large margin. His props sit at over/under 6.5 receptions and over/under 81.5 receiving yards. Lamb hasn’t had more than five receptions in a game this season and he’s been held under 70 yards twice, but his history against the Giants suggests a breakout game is incoming. He recorded at least 80 receiving yards in five of his eight career games against the Giants, including a 124-yard performance last season.

The Giants will be without two cornerbacks because of injuries, so that, combined with a lack of a rushing attack from the Cowboys, could open the game up for Prescott, Lamb and others.

If you are going to trust Dallas’ running backs, Rico Dowdle is the guy at over/under 40.5 rushing yards. Dowdle has 26 more rushing yards on four more carries compared to Ezekiel Elliott.

The under-the-radar Cowboys prop pick is Jaden Tolbert, who is second to Lamb on the team in receiving yards with 136. Tolbert’s receiving-yard prop sits at over/under 27.5.

As for the Giants, Malik Nabers is probably going to be the only high-profile prop target after his two-touchdown outburst against the Browns.

The rookie out of LSU sits at over/under 6.5 receptions and over/under 71.5 receiving yards. Nabers already has 23 receptions on 37 targets, which is astronomically high, but it also shows how little depth there is behind him at wide receiver.

Wan’Dale Robinson has 13 fewer targets than Nabers, but 14 more targets than the next-best player on the Giants roster. He is the only other pass-catcher to trust.

As for the run game, the Giants replaced Saquon Barkley with Devin Singletary, who is averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He has the biggest rushing yard prop on the board at over/under 59.5.
