Alright let’s lighten the mood with something that made me laugh on Monday night. It’s DeVonta Smith’s role during one of the successful second-half shoves:

Smitty has the crucial role of notifying everyone of a first down. Very important. He’s the foreman watching the construction workers actually pour the concrete. It’s like the meme of the guys all pushing the truck, and the one guy is standing in the bed while everyone else shoves from behind. The guy in the bed isn’t actually doing any work, just extending his arms to the cargo lamp. Hilarious, but jokes aside, the Eagles do run wrinkles off the shove. They’ve taken the snap and thrown a quick pitch to the outside, a bit of misdirection to catch other teams snoozing. Obviously that was not the case here, and hopefully they would never consider pitching the ball to Smitty at all, but the thought of him hauling ass for a first down is just as funny as him standing there and signaling for a first down.
